SYMBOLISM!

Interestingly, the title of my new segment says it even before I write.  In this new section I plan to explain about the little misconceptions we have in the given path of religion and spirituality. The strong believes we have embedded since our childhood. Which had pivotal meanings behind them yet were never addressed in the righteous way. It is about the rites and rituals we perform on a daily basis while getting connected to God. Many of you may wonder how come? When certain of such practices we have been doing for generations, then how it is symbolic and not a meaningful reality? Well! Then let's get started …

For instance, when we perform any ritual we lit up  ceremonial fire- diyas, candles, a spark of light or any such thing which represents 'a point of light'. Every religion on the planet has any form of light while performing the religious ritual. In Hinduism diyas are lit for any prayer or religious performance. In Islam the sacred stone in Mecca, has fire lit infront  which is called  the 'noor'. In Christianity the candle is commonly used in worship, and as a symbol that represents the 'light of God'. Buddhism has candles and incense stick for every ritual. Similarly the Jewish synagogues have each their eternal lamp. Pick any faith or religion, everywhere light carries a significant role but no one ever questioned why a point of light? What is the significance behind litting up a candle or a diva ? What does it represent?

The urban dictionary describes symbolsim as  'The practice of representing things by means of symbols or of attributing symbolic meanings or significance to objects, events, or relationships.'

So litting up 'point of light' in any form, in any religion is in real is the reflection of "I the soul"  is an energy in the form of a point of light, which believes is uniting with the Supreme soul. The symbol of light is I the soul in unity with the Supreme soul.

Point, in Geometry is considered infinite, point which resembles an atom which is the irreducible, indestructible material unit of a matter. Point of Light which personifies purity, and divinity within us. Light which is a reminder that we human souls are tiny stars, tiny points of light. Light which resides in the center of the forehead of every human being in the form of "I the soul". This energy further, connecting with the Supreme Light .This is a reminder to human beings that you are tiny points of light and so is the Supreme soul.

This significant truth got, forgotten over the years instead we all got entangled in performing our rituals with so much penance and devotion outwardly, that the beautiful meaning of this gesture got erased. We all started to act so mechanically, doing these important rites in a robotic mode or an autonomous mode without any understanding.

Put a  light on it !
